Cartwright Park is the largest park in the City of Weatherford in terms of acreage, with the main feature of the park being Sunshine Lake. The entirety of Cartwright Park encompasses 150 acres.
Sunshine Lake is a 30 acre lake that is great for local anglers. The lake comes complete with a ramp, however, please use a trolling motor and not a large motor on the water at Sunshine Lake.
Cartwright Park is a great location to have a family picnic and enjoy the natural beauty of North Texas. The park has 30 picnic tables and 11 charcoal grills scattered throughout for your enjoyment!
Cartwright Park is a fantastic location to witness the local wildlife. Other wildlife frequently on display include: turkey, whitetail deer, fox, armadillos, and coyotes.
